Feels Like Home

There’s something deeply comforting about coming home—about the places that hold your earliest memories and the people who feel like your truest roots. For Hannah and Joe Jordan, home was Marietta, Georgia, and more specifically, the storied brick paths and timeless charm of the Marietta Square. So when it came time to choose where to begin their forever, The Foxglove was the natural choice.

“We both grew up here,” they shared. “As a couple, we spent a ton of time on the Square. It only made sense to bring our story full circle.”

From the very beginning, their wedding was designed with heart and hospitality in mind. The Foxglove’s airy, flexible layout gave Hannah and Joe room to dream. “We loved the open feel of the venue—and that we were able to do so much with the space,” they said.

And do something meaningful they did.

In a world where wedding favors and photo booths can take center stage, Hannah and Joe brought the focus back to love and gratitude. At every dinner seat, guests found a handwritten note—a simple, heartfelt thank-you from the couple, personalized just for them.

“We wanted each person to feel how much they meant to us,” Hannah said. “They’re the reason our day was so special.”

Their dinner was served family-style, encouraging conversation, connection, and comfort. The kind of meal that feels more like a big Sunday supper than a formal affair. “That felt true to us,” they explained. “It made everything feel warmer.”

Behind the scenes, The Foxglove team worked hand-in-hand with In An Instant Events to bring every detail to life. From vendor coordination to day-of transitions, the couple felt held by the team’s calm, capable presence. “They knew everything about the space,” said Joe. “It made everything seamless.”

One of the most magical features of the day was what the team lovingly refers to as “the flip”—a transformation of the ceremony space into the dinner and reception area during cocktail hour. As guests spilled into the courtyard, sipping drinks and catching up under twinkle lights, the team inside quietly worked their magic.

“We were even able to bring in lounge furniture to create cozy seating outdoors,” Hannah said. “It felt like a backyard party—just a little more dressed up.”

When asked to pick their favorite moment, Hannah and Joe didn’t hesitate: “It was seeing all our loved ones—mingling, laughing, hugging. That joy was everything.”

Their advice to other couples considering a venue? “Destination weddings can be fun, but having a place that’s central to your people—and that feels like you—is priceless. That’s what The Foxglove gave us.”

A Marietta Love Story

Ellie and Kyle’s wedding weekend was a love letter to Marietta. Every detail reflected their deep connection to the town, and The Foxglove was their perfect venue.

Ellie & Kyle

When Ellie and Kyle began planning their wedding, one thing was certain: Marietta would be at the heart of their celebration. As long-time residents of this charming historic town, they wanted their big day to reflect the community, memories, and love they’ve built here. Choosing The Foxglove as their venue was the easiest decision of all.

“We’ve admired The Foxglove for years,” Ellie shares. “Its charm, unique character, and central location right on the Square made it perfect. We’ve attended several events there and always appreciated the beautiful atmosphere and welcoming staff.”

Ellie and Kyle’s wedding was a celebration of love and a heartfelt tribute to Marietta, from the elegant decor inspired by the city’s historic charm to the meaningful local touches woven throughout their day.

Embracing Marietta’s Historic Charm

Marietta’s history and beauty played a significant role in shaping Ellie and Kyle’s wedding theme. Their attention to detail was evident in every choice, from the venues they frequented to the way they incorporated the town’s iconic landmarks.

“Our last name is Whitlock, so taking photos under the Whitlock Avenue street sign felt symbolic and special,” Ellie says with a smile. “It was our way of celebrating Marietta.”

Guests were immersed in the charm of the Square, staying in nearby hotels and Airbnbs, exploring the couple’s favorite spots, and experiencing the vibrant community they call home.

“Our rehearsal dinner was upstairs at Mac’s, and the bridal brunch was hosted at a historic home on Church Street. The morning of the wedding, my bridesmaids and I had breakfast at Sessions Stand, my favorite coffee shop. Every part of the weekend was tied to Marietta.”

A Day Full of Meaningful Details

Ellie and Kyle’s wedding reflected their personalities and love story, thanks to their meticulous planning and personal touches. Ellie spent a year thrifting antique floral china for the reception, ensuring each plate was unique and meaningful.

“We even saved the plates we used during the wedding and now have them displayed in our home,” Ellie shares.

The decor was a mix of vintage charm and modern fun, complete with glassware Ellie sourced, disco balls for a playful vibe, and florals by 131 Le Fleur that brought their dream to life.

The ceremony itself was equally unique and intimate. “Kyle and I got ready together, which was one of my favorite parts of the day,” Ellie says. “He zipped up my dress, and I tied his tie. It felt symbolic of us preparing to take care of each other forever.”

The couple also opted for a non-traditional ceremony setup with vintage couches and cocktail tables, creating a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere for their loved ones.

The Foxglove’s Role in a Perfect Day

Ellie credits The Foxglove team for bringing her vision to life. “Jennifer was amazing,” she says. “She helped us create a floor plan that felt intimate despite our large guest count and walked us through every detail, from seating arrangements to vendor coordination.”

The venue’s layout made for a seamless experience, with a separate outdoor space for the ceremony and a stunning bridal suite where Ellie and her bridesmaids could relax.

“The Foxglove is so beautiful on its own that we didn’t need to do much. A few disco balls, gorgeous florals, and the venue did the rest,” Ellie says.

Even a potential hiccup—discovering a major festival was happening on the Square the same day—was handled effortlessly by The Foxglove team. “There were no issues with parking or accessibility. Everything went perfectly,” Ellie recalls.

A Very Marietta Wedding

Ellie and Kyle’s wedding weekend was a love letter to Marietta. Every detail reflected their deep connection to the town.

“Our dinner was catered by our favorite Mexican restaurant on the Square, and both of our cakes were made by local bakers,” Ellie shares. “Our guests called it a ‘very Marietta weekend,’ and we wouldn’t have had it any other way.”

Advice for Future Couples

When asked what advice she’d give to other couples, Ellie is quick to recommend The Foxglove.

“Marietta is such a vibrant, fun place, and The Foxglove is at the heart of it all. The venue is stunning, versatile, and the team is amazing. They truly made our day stress-free and perfect,” Ellie says.

For Ellie and Kyle, The Foxglove wasn’t just a wedding venue—it was a reflection of their love, their community, and the start of their forever in the town they hold dear.

“It was everything we dreamed of,” Ellie says. “Our wedding day felt like us—sentimental, low-key, and full of love.”
